sister love

I am the oldest of 3 girls. It's tough being the special child, the one everyone looks up to and adores. It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it!! I can say these things because my sisters don't know about my blog yet ;)
I am sister #1 and then there is middle sister #2 and youngest sister #3. We are close and have some funny conversations.
Here is sister #3 and my facebook conversation.

Sister #3 status update: Happy anniversary to my wonderful parents :) :) Married 26 years and still so in love! You two are an inspiration!!
Me: WWWWHHHHAAAATTTT!!!! I'm 28...... what the f-stick.... something doesn't add up here.
Sister #3: YOU BASTARD!!
Me: RIGHT!! Son.Of.A.Gun.
sister #3: Well at least we know #2 and I were made from love :) Sorry about ur luck..
Me: your welcome..... for forcing our parents to get married so you weren't bastard children also.

See my sisters have me to thank for so much in their lives!! I bet they have a never ending list of awesomeness that is just about me!!
Kinda thinking I may never share this post with them....

The never ending to do list.

Well this weekend was a to-do weekend! My awesome middle sister came with her daughter to spend some time and help us get some projects done. My little guy is finally feeling better, the ear infection is gone and he is pretty much back to his normal self. So it was a good weekend! We got my garden planted and flowers planted along with other miscellaneous items and errands. My 5 year old niece is hilarious and at times a bit naughty, I will share some of those stories at a later time. It was so nice to have the help with some projects. Now my sister just needs to come back when we really dig into the kitchen remodel. Which fyi: we have not started. ugh. Neither has the driveway contractor attempted to call us to set up a time to come and do our driveway. I'm starting to get frustrated. Anyway, it was a very productive weekend thanks to the help of my awesome sister. There is still lots to do on my list, seems it just never ends.
Side note: husband, sister and I dug out the clothes line poles that are in the spot the driveway will be going. Seems people who put them in anchored those things to china!! My gawd!! So we dug and dug and dug, then pushed and pulled and SNAP husband and I flew to the ground. Second one husband and sister flew but they caught themselves and did not land on the ground. So I am the only one with bruises now. Which is up to par for me. Back in the day when bff and I used to work (or not really work depending on who you ask) at Wal-Mart said bff would use my arms as a punching bag. She thought it was funny how easily I bruised and I often looked like a battered victim!
Here are my awesome bruises. Enjoy!

** please disregard my hairy arms... they really aren't that manly hairy, the up-closeness of my camera phone just makes them look that way***
also now my little guy is cutting some molars and is not a happy camper anymore.... *sigh* I guess it's always something!! I don't know what to do for him besides say "suck it up kid". Okay I don't really say that instead I stare at him while he screams in my face because his gums hurt, yes I really don't know what I'm doing in this parenting world. Poor dude.

When you plan a weekend it usually doesn't go as planned.

So this past weekend was supposed to be a nice weekend. Nothing super special or filled with fun stuff, but just nice. We were headed out of town to La Crosse for WI state darts. Adam (husband) was shooting doubles with his bff - I think men have bffs - and the little man and I were going to hang out. I took off work early on Thursday and we were all packed up and on the road early, wooo hooo! Fast forward 3 hours and we are 45 minutes away from our destination and of course what happens? The mother f-in car breaks down. Like dead. done. not working. So there we sit on the side of a busy interstate. The car is rocking back and forth with the passing force of every large car and semi flying by at 75 mph. Dear husband had the idea to take baby out of the car seat to play in the grass on the side of the road to keep him entertained. Well super patient me says 'NO ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME DON'T YOU SEE THOSE SHOWS WERE PEOPLE GET HIT WHILE THEIR CAR IS BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD HE IS STAYING IN HIS CAR SEAT OMG IT'S HOT IN HERE DID YOU FRIGGIN CALL THE TOW PLACE I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING ADLKFJDAKJK##ADFA*8ASDFJL##'.
Okay I guess I'm not all that calm or patient. My wonderful husband is tho and switched spots with me since I was sitting in the back with a crying screaming toddler. I will also add that our little man Jaxen was running a fever and had since the day before. So he was hot and sick of his car seat and just not feeling well. But Daddy to the rescue!! He managed to calm Jaxen down and keep him pretty entertained, whew. So we got a tow to come, waited 45 minutes for that and then 45 minutes to our hotel.

So Jaxen and I were stranded without a car Friday while Adam shot darts. Therefore all our plans fell thru. No mall shopping, no lunch with a friend I haven't seen in like a year and a half, no leisurely stroll with my hubby along the Mississippi river, no cruising around the gorgeous town of La Crosse. Instead I took the stroller and walked my little man all around down town. He napped and I just walked. My Dad and 2 sisters ended up coming and picking our stuff up from the hotel and taking Jaxen back with them - they live about 50 minutes away. He still wasn't feeling well and spiking a fever all day. I joined Adam, we finally got the car around 3pm ($800 later I will add.... super). We hung out with some friends for a bit and head to my parents.

Saturday came and we just had a leisure day at my parents house and tried to keep our sick guy entertained before heading home Saturday night at Jaxen's bedtime so he could sleep in the car on the way home.

'Hey what else can I get into of Grandma's stuff'

He was just not happy all day but managed to still get into some trouble at Grandma and Grandpas and do some snuggling with Grandpa.

Finally Sunday we were home and took the little man to the doctors. Verdict - double ear infection plus he's teething. Poor guy :( So finally he has meds and is slowly starting to feel better although he is still incredibly whiny!

Short story long, I actually learned a lot about myself this weekend. I've grown up! In the past a situation like this would have put me in an angry, mad, cranky tailspin. I would have been ticked off Thursday and it would have carried thru my whole weekend, making everyone else just as cranky. Yes I was upset on Thursday and disappointed that our weekend didn't go as I envisioned. But I figured ahhh not much you can do about it. Pay the bill, get the car fixed and move on. I really wasn't all that worked up about it. I attribute part of this to being a Mom. You realize there are other things in life that matter so much more :) We were all safe and healthy (for the most part) and we had my awesome family not too far away to help. So in all I'm grateful for my super patient husband, our beautiful son, our good friends and great family. It didn't go as planned but then again what in life really does.

Please don't chew.... like ever.

Eating noises. I can't stand them. I can't stand hearing people crunch their food, or swallowing it or licking their fingers. It's like nails down a chalkboard for me. It takes everything I have to not scream STOP FUCKING CHEWING IN MY FACE even if they are like 10 feet away. If I hear eating noises on the radio I will change the station. At work I have to blast my music in my ears to not hear my neighbors crunch crunch crunch. At that is all while said perpetrators are chewing with their mouths closed! Can you imagine how I am if they are chewing with their mouth open?! I think I might be liable to hurt someone. It is by far by biggest pet peeve. My jaw literally aches from clenching so tight so I don't open my big mouth and either hurt someones feelings, get fired from my job or get arrested. So be warned DON'T CHEW BY ME!
STOP CHEWING or I will slap you!

Well here I go

Wooooaaaa!! It's been weeks. I was going to do this awesome first blog post all about me and my details and blah blah blah. Well who has time for that? Apparently not me. So in short.... I am Sara, full-time working Mom, wife, sister, daughter, etc... etc.. I'm strange, indecisive and mostly normal except when I'm not normal. So that's me and I'm sure I will be revealing more as time goes on.
So what's going on in my life now. We are remodeling, or deciding to remodel our not so awesome kitchen. It's stressful already because it's making decisions. I am not good at making decisions. So right now we are talking about what we want to do to the kitchen and looking online at cabinets and sinks and the like. Also there have been visits to Home Depot and I'm sure there will be more visits coming here soon. And in the meantime we are getting estimates done for windows in our house and in the last stages of choosing a contractor for a driveway. Whew!! Did I add I'm hoping to do our kitchen on a budget? And I mean a real budget, not a 'we will say we are on a budget but spend 10k budget' like you see on those home improvement channels. They are jerky liars who think it's awesome to share what a deal they spent on their kitchen when us 'normal' folk are thinking "how the hell could we afford something like that!" So this remodeling journey should be very interesting. I hope to still be married when we are finished. Kidding - my husband think I am always in the best of moods, especially while I'm making decisions. Or that's what I tell myself while he is sighing at me.

and I start a blog

Woa I decided to start a Blog... I don't know. Maybe someone will care what I have to say. Or maybe I just like to see my extremely silly thoughts typed out. Either way welcome to my world of thoughts, irritations, child care, crocheting and miscellaneous adventurous. I don't promise to rock at grammar or have too many insightful things to say. but I can be pretty entertaining, at least I think so..... stay tuned for my first official post .. no sorry this one doesn't count.
